🎉 Big Milestone: The Aaru GUI is Here!
After months of hard work, we’re thrilled to announce that the Aaru graphical user interface (GUI) is now complete!
🔌 Direct & Remote Device Access
- On Linux and Windows, you can connect directly to supported devices.
- Or, use AaruRemote (available on all platforms) to access devices over the network from another computer.
📊 Instant Device & Media Insights
Once connected, Aaru gives you detailed information at a glance:
- Device metadata (e.g., ATA IDENTIFY)
- Full media details: sessions, tracks, tables of contents, and more
🧩 Real-Time Media Scanning
Scanning media is now interactive:
- Block Map: See how long each block of sectors takes to read, with intuitive color coding.
- Speed Graph: Watch a live graph of read speeds as the scan progresses.
đź“‚ Side Files Become Useful
Remember those side files created during dumps? They’re now powerful tools:
- MHDD logs can be opened to visualize block maps of your dumps.
- IBG/ImgBurn logs display speed graphs of past dumps.
đź’ľ Dump Media Directly from the GUI
The most requested feature is finally here:
- Choose your image format, destination, and options.
- Sit back while Aaru handles the dump, shows progress, and generates logs.
- Afterwards, you can open the image, inspect it, or extract files with ease.
âś… All in One Place
From device connection to scanning, dumping, and visualization—everything can now be done directly in the GUI.
We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed building it. 🚀
⚠️ Note: Aaru is still in alpha, so expect bugs. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve!
